چکیده

Proof of the Paper’s Theorem 4: As in the proof of Theorem 1 in the paper, we apply a theorem by Koopmans (1960, Section 14). First note that by the fact that each ui is nondecreasing and increasing in some dimension on [0, 1] and V satisfies unanimity, his postulates 2 and 5 are satisfied. Next, his postulate 1 follows from continuity (in fact, differentiability) of V under the metric d(C,C ′) = supt ‖ct − ct‖. Finally, time consistency implies his postulates 3, 3’, and 4. Thus, there exists 0 < δ < 1 and a continuous u such that V [δ1, u1; . . . ; δn, un](C) = ∑ t δ u(ct) for all C. By unanimity, it follows that u is nondecreasing and is increasing in some arguments. Assume now that it is twice differentiable and that δi 6= δj for all i 6= j. Without loss of generality, let us normalize u so that u(0) = 0 and u(1) = 1 (where the inputs are now vectors).

بررسی و تبیین مشکل ناسازگاری زمانی

In very, simple words, time inconsistency means failing to conduct programs in consistence with time. In other words, time inconsistency refers to a situation where economic decision-makers preferences transform a long time in a way that what they preferred at a certain time point is not consistent with their preferences at other time points. In everyday life, we always face time inconsistency....

Supplementary Appendix to “ Dynamic Belief Elicitation ”

This Supplementary Appendix includes additional results and the proofs omitted from the main text. Throughout, references are to the main text and to the appendix of the main text, unless they include the prefix “SA.” It proceeds as follows. In Section SA.1, we provide several examples that illustrate the general method of the main text to special environments. In Section SA.2, we consider the ...

Policy Time-Inconsistency: A Comparison of Managed Floating Exchange Rate and Controlled Exchange Rate Regimes

Some empirical and theoretical studies have emphasized on fixed exchange rate regime in controlling time inconsistency, while others consider the role of target zone regime as an important factor. Thus there is no general consensus to decide which exchange rate regime may bring about less time-inconsistency. The main purpose of this study is to investigate policy time-inconsistency in exchange ...

The Effect of Dynamic Assessment of Toulmin Model through Teacher- and Collective-Scaffolding on Argument Structure and Argumentative Writing Achievement of Iranian EFL Learners

Considering the paramount importance of writing logical arguments for college students, this study investigated the effect of dynamic assessment (DA) of Toulmin model through teacher- and collective-scaffolding on argument structure and overall quality of argumentative essays of Iranian EFL university learners. In so doing, 45 male and female Iranian EFL learners taking part in the study were r...

Theoretical frameworks for neuroeconomics of intertemporal choice

Intertemporal choice has drawn attention in behavioral economics, econophysics, and neuroeconomics. Recent studies in mainstream economics have mainly focused on inconsistency in intertemporal choice (dynamic inconsistency); while impulsivity/impatience in intertemporal choice has been extensively studied in behavioral economics of addiction. However, recent advances in neuroeconomic and econop...
